LOCAL RETROSPECTIVE
In the 90’s Mitchell Marketing & Co a local promotional agency operating out of the garage in Scarborough established in 1991. A mobile agent working on collaborating with WA’s best in show business doing live shows in venues supporting regular staged live the entertainment. Hospitality using exciting talent to attract lovers of the big night out.
Clients including, Show Business Australia, WA Events Corp, Special Events Australia along with a long list of local venues. M & Co jumped into the online world with pioneering web sites the Bandwagon & Sunset Coast Special Events in the late 90’s. Also publishing a quarterly magazine hard copy magazine “Sunset Coast WA”. Full of local shops, stops, hot spots, live music, surf, sail, swim, beach related. Metropolitan coastal districts with a touch of cosmopolitan city & suburban life.
Also the Launch Years of the Sunset Coast Boulevard, now Drive which was the change of West Coast Highway. It was a good time for a few years but a costly little project publication that after the change of ownership of Radissons to Rendezvous & Sorrento Quay sold to an international corporation, they were the main underwriters / sponsors for the printed project mag which became history.
The Bandwagon & Sunset Coast Events ran from 1996 – 2006 with several hundred events local, national, international held state wide over that period of time. The Bandwagon was an online booking agency full of all you needed to know on the local scene. As a weekly digital alternative to every other entertainment information provider in news papers, mags, handouts. Crew working on the platform were X-Xpress management & staff so was pretty cool content as kind of pioneers in the online world considering it was same time as Napster, Limewire, My Space, Yahoo the beginning of the sharing of info.
The essence of this past in a local magazine, lists of local heroes, places, hot spots are now being revived & relived here @ Sunset Coast Life.
Mitchell Marketing & Management continues to “Act Locally Think Globally” working with property, investments, developments, publishing, business projects, special events & promotions.
Its been a journey with a reincarnation here of all we know listed, linked, noted for anyone who are interested.
