East Perth power station transformed into arts and entertainment precinct for Perth Festival
The long abandoned East Perth power station formed the backdrop for the Perth Festival in 2024 to continue for the next four years under new artistic director Anna Reece.
It was the first time the public has been allowed to visit the venue since it shut in 1981.
Other festival highlights included a re-imagined Embassy Ballroom at the Perth Town Hall and a 12-hour performance of the epic ancient Indian poem Mahabharata.
If you missed it keep in the loop for the next event at this new iconic location that will promise to be big & powerful.
On the banks of the river, an icon has been lying dormant, waiting…
the switch has been flicked. The reanimation has begun. East Perth Power Station comes alive again. Perth Festival’s newest precinct – the ultimate destination for hot summer nights in February – March.
