Living in Western Australia in the 21st century 2020’s is pretty special with the last 2 decades state wide massive infrastructure investments have been made to upgrade as nearly everything from the city to regional areas. WA is preparing for the increased population growth estimated to be around 50,000 per year. Fluctuating from 20,000 – 90,000 over the last decade with a variation due to world actions, pandemic, resources booms, employment opportunities. But the number one thing that underpins all population growth is family future is safety, education, affordability, lifestyle with a home that provides a good life. Given most of the modern world has large social issues, community challenges with over crowding or high density living. The management or governing of the population is at tipping points in many cities & state around the world due to the number of fractures in the fabric of society for a long list of reasons.
Perth WA is a long way from anybody which has proven to be a challenge in many ways over the last 2 centuries being inside the national & global loop of business, politics, power or the Commonwealth. But now in a world of the 21st century its become unique as a place of opportunity, freshness, newness, balancing an innovative, creative but conservative government at the same time. WA has a nuance way of living that is very attractive to new residents from around the world.

Siesta. Use the middle of the day for relaxation, under shade, inside especially on days over 35 degrees. This is a good for screen time so that it doesn’t interrupt sleep patterns.
Evenings are glorious. Picnics, family outings, backyard campouts, bbq, entertaining at sunset with warm balmy nights.
Slip, slop, slap, seek and slide.
Slip on a hat & clothing, slop & slap on the sunscreen, seek out things to do places to go, slide into life to be SUNSMART.

HYDRATION
Hydrate. Just get used to carrying a water bottle. There are also some great insulated bottles out there now which, with a few ice blocks added, are an oasis in backpack.
BEWARE MOZZIES
Buy a mozzie net. There are ones you can string up over a blanket under a tree, ones you can wear over your hat. They might not look that great but they can make all the difference if outside at sunset. Check out the best insect repellents & always carry something for the family.
GO COASTAL
It is a great time to be near water. Swimming is good and wind over water is also nature’s own evaporative air conditioner.
Think shade. Even if you are wearing a hat being in full sun on a hot day will wear you down after a while. Think about going places with good shade.
Think about getting a window shade for your car and ditching the mittens.
