Perth Explorer’s new open-topped double-decker bus will be cruising with special tours to showcase its new multilingual commentary available in eight languages and entertaining children’s commentary by Kev the Kangaroo.
Tourism Minister Paul Papalia attended the launch and jumped on board for a short tour of Kings Park before Parliament.
“I congratulate Perth Explorer on launching their new bus fleet that now offers an enhanced experience to international visitors with new commentary in languages from some of our key tourist markets including French, German, Spanish, Indonesian, Malaysian, Chinese and Japanese explaining the iconic attractions around Perth,” Minister Papalia said.
Director of Perth Explorer Jon Tomkins said he was delighted to launch the new bus with multilingual commentary.
“Perth Explorer operates two open-topped buses seven days per week with frequent departures in a loop around Perth and Kings Park for visitors to hop on and hop off at their leisure,” Mr Tomkins said.
“No other tour can offer a bird’s eye view of Perth’s top attractions without a glass window to spoil the view or your photos, plus you see Perth from a higher vantage point providing a different perspective.”
Perth Explorer Hop On Hop Off tour has 12 stops including Kings Park, Northbridge, Crown Perth, Elizabeth Quay, Bell Tower, city shopping malls, Perth Mint, WA Art Gallery, Yagan Square, Optus Stadium and Watertown and takes two hours from start to finish.
Operating for 15 years, Perth Explorer Hop On Hop Off tour is the city’s premier tour which attracts over 60,000 passengers per year. It is the only hop on hop off tour to offer expert commentary in eight languages.
